In 1999, Dave Waite founded Zookeeper, a brand identity, design and communications firm to help companies build brands that smartly express who they are, what they do and why people should do business with them.
Zookeeper’s creative services include naming, copywriting, brand identity, advertising, content creation, graphic design and interactive design. Zookeeper produces concept-driven print ads, TV commercials, radio spots, interactive advertising, web sites, product packaging, direct marketing, press releases and retail environment design. Clients have spanned a range of Fortune 500 companies, small business, design firms and advertising agencies.
After working at ESPN on the SportsCenter, SportsNight, NFLPrimetime and NHL2Night TV shows, he moved to Oregon and worked for two years as the creative writer for the Retail Design department at Nike, where he wrote, edited and managed displays (including film and video interactives) for 15 NIKETOWNs and 2 NIKESTOREs, including openings in London, Berlin, Las Vegas, Honolulu, Toronto, Melbourne and Miami.
Originally from upstate New York, Dave graduated from Northwestern University in 1994 with a degree from the Medill School of Journalism. He has also studied at Moscow State University in Russia and the Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon.
Dave relocated Zookeeper to Los Angeles in September 2007.
